A twentieth-place finish followed by a third suggests a horse that is learning quickly, improving with each run, and beginning to handle the demands of competitive racing. That kind of progression in just two outings is genuinely encouraging.

Intense Vision is trained by Oli Rix, who operates out of Newmarket — the historic heartland of British flat racing, where the sport has been run for centuries and where competition among trainers is fierce. Rix's yard has sent out three winners already this season, a modest but meaningful tally that shows the horses in his care are capable of winning races. With a horse showing the kind of upward curve Intense Vision has produced, the yard will be hoping it is only a matter of time before it joins that list.
