That is more than double its overall career average, and it strongly suggests this is a horse that wants to be stretched. The speed over sprint trips is not quite there, but ask it to settle and travel, and the picture changes.

Paula Muir is the rider who seems to understand it best. In eight races together, she has steered Idyllic to 2 wins — a win rate of 25%, or 1 in every 4 rides. That is a notably better return than the horse manages with other jockeys, and it hints at a genuine partnership built on familiarity. When Muir is in the saddle, Idyllic simply seems to perform at a higher level.

The last win came at Thirsk on 25 July 2025 — now a full year ago — and the current run of six races without a victory, with recent finishes of 4th, 5th, 6th, 6th, 7th and 4th, shows a horse that is consistently close but not quite getting there.
