Two-year-olds are essentially teenagers finding their feet, and a pair of fourth-place finishes from just two races tells you very little about where a young horse might end up. The trainer is Jane Chapple-Hyam, based at Dalham in Suffolk, and her yard has sent out 25 winners already this season — a solid, productive operation with a genuine track record of developing young horses. That Halliwell Stream is part of an active, winning yard at least suggests the horse is in good hands while it figures things out. The next run will be worth watching.
