The one victory came at Southwell in October 2025, and while that was nine months ago now, the subsequent form has held up well. Finishing second twice and fourth once since then suggests a horse that is consistently competitive without quite finding that extra gear on the day. Whether that changes as the season progresses remains to be seen, but the consistency alone puts Haaderr ahead of many horses at this stage of a career.
Behind the horse is the yard of Edward Bethell, based in Middleham in North Yorkshire — one of the great training villages in British racing, tucked into the Yorkshire Dales with centuries of horses having worked those moorland gallops. Bethell has been in excellent form this season, sending out 61 winners, which speaks to an operation that knows how to place horses well and get results. A trainer firing at that rate tends to have his runners going to the right races at the right time, and with Haaderr having raced just yesterday, this is clearly a horse being kept busy and active.
Four races is a small sample, but the picture so far is of a three-year-old who shows up and competes every time. In a sport where plenty of young horses take time to figure things out, that reliability is worth something.
