The recent form makes for interesting reading. Her last five races, reading from most recent, go 3-4-9-8-7 — meaning she finished third last time out, which is that placed finish on her record, and fourth the time before that. Back through the autumn those mid-to-high single-digit finishes suggested she was struggling, but the trajectory over her last couple of races is noticeably better. A horse that was finishing seventh, eighth, and ninth has suddenly found herself third and fourth. At six years old, that kind of upturn is worth paying attention to.
She is trained by Ben Clarke at Mosterton in Dorset, a yard that has sent out 13 winners already this season. That is a decent return and suggests Clarke knows how to place his horses in races they can win. Good Girl Rachel raced just yesterday, so she is very much an active runner, and with that recent improvement in form, it would be no surprise if Clarke felt he was getting close to finding the right opportunity for her.
