Golden Prosperity

The wins have come at the lower end of the racing ladder, mostly at Class 6 level — the kind of races that form the bread and butter of the British racing calendar, run at tracks up and down the country on midweek afternoons. Four of its five wins have come in that grade, from 47 attempts, which works out at roughly 1 win in every 12 races at that level. Modest, yes, but consistent enough that the team at Norton keeps running it, and with good reason: Golden Prosperity hit the track just yesterday and is very much an active part of Tony Coyle and Kaine Wood's operation, a yard that has sent out 12 winners already this season.

What the numbers really show is a horse that comes alive on normal, standard ground. Three of its five wins — 16% of all its races in those conditions, or roughly 1 in 6 — have come when the track is neither waterlogged nor baked dry. That is a meaningful pattern. If you are ever looking at a racecard and you see Golden Prosperity listed on a dry summer's day at a straightforward Northern track, that is the version most likely to be competitive.

The most recent win came at Catterick Bridge in April 2026, with jockey Kieran Schofield on board. Schofield has partnered the horse 12 times in total, winning once — about 1 in 12 together — though recent form has dried up, with no win in the last 6 races and a twelfth-place finish mixed in among otherwise mid-pack efforts. The trajectory is not upward right now, but this is a horse with a first win on record at Musselburgh back in the summer of 2023, and it has been plugging away reliably ever since. Not every horse needs to be a champion. Some just need to keep running.
