Trained by Lisa Williamson out of Kelsall in Cheshire, Golden Mabel is at least with a yard that knows how to win. Williamson's team has sent out six winners already this season, so the ability is there on the training side. The question is whether Golden Mabel can start tapping into it. She raced just yesterday, so the yard — sorry, the team — are clearly keeping her busy and looking for the right opportunity to unlock something better.

At this stage, the honest assessment is that Golden Mabel is a horse still searching for her moment. Not every horse finds it quickly, and some need time and the right conditions to show what they are capable of. Whether that moment is coming soon is the interesting question — and with yesterday's run still fresh, it may not be long before we find out.
