The long absence is the most pressing question here. Glendower hasn't raced in roughly ten months, which is a significant chunk of time out of any athlete's career. Horses can return from long breaks in better shape than they left, but they can also come back ring-rusty and needing a race or two to find their rhythm. Without knowing why the break happened, it's simply an unknown — and unknowns at this stage of a career are rarely a good sign.
Trainer Eoin Doyle operates out of Mooncoin in County Kilkenny and has sent out two winners this season, which is a modest total. The yard isn't firing on all cylinders, and Glendower — a horse that competes at Class 4, the bread-and-butter level of racing rather than anything prestigious — hasn't contributed a single win from five attempts at that level. For context, a horse with genuine ability tends to find its level and win eventually. Glendower hasn't found that level yet, and it's now four years old with the clock ticking.
There may be a race in here somewhere, but the evidence on the table doesn't make a strong case for it. Sometimes horses surprise you on their comeback run. Glendower would need to do exactly that.
