That sole win came at Chelmsford on 15 January 2026, and it remains the high point of a career that has otherwise been defined by near-misses rather than victories. Gennadius has placed — finished in the top few — 12 times across those 23 races, which means he has run competitively far more often than his win column suggests. He shows up, he competes, he just rarely gets his nose in front. His recent form of 4-2-9-7-9-9 captures this well: a second place in there, a fourth, but also some poor runs mixed in, and nothing that has nudged him back to the winner's enclosure in the five months since Chelmsford.

The distances that suit him best are a mile and one furlong to a mile and two — he has won 1 from 12 races at those trips, an 8% win rate that actually represents the most competitive version of this horse. Interestingly, the vast majority of his racing has come at Class 5 level — 17 of his 23 races — and his single win came there too.
