The partnership with jockey Gavin Sheehan has been given every chance to click, with five races together and nothing to show in the win column yet. That said, placed finishes suggest the horse isn't disgracing itself — it's just been that kind of career so far, where the gap between nearly and actually has refused to close.
The yard behind the horse is a serious one. Trainer Jamie Snowden operates out of Lambourn in Berkshire — one of British racing's most celebrated training centres — and has sent out 82 winners this season alone. That is a genuinely impressive volume of success, which means Garde My Guinness isn't sitting in a struggling stable waiting for things to improve. The support structure is there. Snowden clearly knows how to get horses winning; this particular one just hasn't found its moment yet.
With the horse having raced as recently as yesterday, clearly the yard — the team — still believe there's a win in there. At six, it isn't ancient, and horses can take time to find their best. But six races without a win, and a jockey who has tried five times without getting there, means the pressure is quietly building. The next run will be one to watch.
