Two wins from the last six races is a purple patch by any measure, and it comes off the back of a career that only got going in earnest on 21 July 2025 at Ballinrobe. The last success came at Bath on 17 April 2026 — around three months ago — and with a race just yesterday, this is a horse very much in the thick of things right now.

What makes Galaxy Wonder interesting is how specific the conditions are that bring out the best in it. On normal ground, it wins 2 from 6 — that is 1 in every 3 races, a figure that would be the envy of plenty of horses operating at a much higher level. Get the trip right too — somewhere between a mile and one furlong and a mile and two furlongs — and the numbers become striking: 4 wins from 9 races at those distances, meaning it wins nearly half its races when the conditions suit. That is not a coincidence; it is a blueprint.

Wolverhampton is perhaps the most telling detail of all. Two wins from just three visits there amounts to a 67% win rate at that track, which is extraordinary. Most horses will visit a course a dozen times and never win at all — Galaxy Wonder has turned Wolverhampton into something close to a home circuit. If it turns up there again, in normal conditions, over a mile and a bit, you will know why the interest sharpens.

Carroll's yard has been in outstanding form, sending out 136 winners this season — a volume of success that suggests a well-oiled operation. The one mild puzzle is that regular rider Leigh Roche is still looking for a first win from five rides together. Whether that partnership clicks into gear is one of the more intriguing subplots as the season continues.
