Recent form makes for difficult reading. The last six outings have produced finishes of 11th, 9th, 11th, a pulled-up or non-completion run, 8th, and 6th — working backwards from the most recent. That sixth-place finish a single day ago is the closest thing to encouragement, though it still leaves Frontier Rose well outside the places. There is no obvious upward curve here.
She is trained by Thomas Coyle, whose yard is based in Batterstown, County Meath, and has sent out two winners so far this season. It is a small operation by any measure, and Frontier Rose has not yet been able to add to that tally. Whether fresher ground, a different type of race, or simply more time will unlock something better remains to be seen — but right now, she is a horse in search of her first win.
