Both wins came at Wolverhampton in the spring of 2025, just three weeks apart, which is the most interesting thread in this horse's career. Finding a track that suits can be the making of a horse at this level, and Wolverhampton clearly clicked. The trouble is that the last of those wins came in late April 2025, and Fine Print hasn't troubled the judge since. The last six runs read 9, 12, 7, 8, 8, 8 — mostly finishing well down the field, with very little sign of the spark that produced those back-to-back victories.

The ground matters here. Fine Print's two wins have both come on normal conditions, and the numbers back that up — 2 wins from 10 races on standard ground, which works out at 20%, or roughly 1 in every 5. That's a genuinely solid conversion rate, and it tells you the horse has a clear preference. Get the conditions wrong and the chance likely goes with them.

Fine Print also tends to be campaigned over longer trips — two miles or more — and has won once from six attempts at that distance. Jockey Siobhan Rutledge has been aboard five times without a win together, though it's worth noting that the partnership hasn't yet had the benefit of a run at Wolverhampton in the right conditions.

With a run just yesterday, Fine Print is clearly being kept busy. The career earnings and level suggest this is a horse competing in modest company, doing its best work when everything lines up just right. Those two wins in three weeks at Wolverhampton show the ability is there somewhere. The question is whether the team can find the combination again — the right track, the right ground — and coax another moment out of a horse that has shown it knows how to win when the stars align.
