Faro Island

The horse broke through for its first win at Down Royal in late September 2025, and has since found the winner's circle twice more, most recently at Galway back in July. That win came two months ago, and Faro Island has been racing regularly since — finishing 11th just a day ago — which suggests the yard at Caledon, Co Tyrone still has faith in what it can do. Trainer A Oliver's operation has sent out 18 winners this season, so there is proper horsepower in that yard.

The partnership with jockey W J Lee has yielded one win from five rides together, in line with the horse's overall win rate. Recent form reads 11-7-8-1-6-7 across the last six outings, which is a mixed picture: one decent effort (that fifth place) but mostly mid-field finishes that don't tell the story of a horse about to break through again. For a 4-year-old with a track record of winning roughly once every five goes, though, Faro Island remains genuinely competitive and active enough to catch a valuable race on any given day.
