Famous Enough

Famous Enough picked up its first career win at Cork in August 2025, then followed it up with another victory at Dundalk in late September. Back-to-back wins after a long wait is no small thing — it suggested the horse had finally found its feet rather than just got lucky. The recent form figures (2-13-6-1-11-4, reading from most recent backwards) show that things have been patchier since, with a couple of well-beaten efforts, but there's a second-place finish in there too, and the horse raced just yesterday, which tells you the team still believe there's more to come.

The most revealing number in Famous Enough's record is at a specific trip — distances of a mile and one furlong to a mile and two furlongs. At those distances, the horse has won 2 from 11 races, an 18% win rate, or roughly 1 in every 5 or 6 races. That's more than double its overall win rate, and it matters: it means Patrick Foley's team almost certainly have a very clear target in mind when they enter this horse. Get the distance right, and the chances go up sharply. Get it wrong, and Famous Enough tends to disappear into the pack.

Foley trains out of Bagenalstown in County Carlow and has had 14 winners this season, so this is a yard in decent form. Regular jockey N G McCullagh has been aboard for 7 of Famous Enough's races and has one of those wins to show for it — a 14% win rate, or 1 in every 7 rides together, which is a fraction better than the horse's overall record suggests it deserves. That kind of consistency between horse and rider often matters more than the raw numbers imply.

Famous Enough won't be troubling the top races in Britain or Ireland anytime soon, but for a horse that spent most of its career looking for a breakthrough, finding two wins in two months was a genuine statement. Whether there's another one in the locker at the right distance remains to be seen.
