The first big moment came at Salisbury in June 2023, which also doubled as Equity Law's first career win — a debut victory at a high level is a statement. Then came Sandown Park in April 2024, another Class 2, confirming that the Salisbury win was no fluke. The most recent win, at Catterick Bridge in September 2025, is now eight months in the rear-view mirror, and the recent form reads 3-6-8-8-1-4, meaning Equity Law has drifted back down the field after that last success. Racing is rarely a straight line.

One puzzle worth noting: Equity Law has spent most of its time competing at Class 3 level, one rung below those headline wins, and has yet to win a single one of those nine races at that grade. That's an odd inversion — better at the top than in the middle — and it's the kind of quirk that keeps racing interesting. Whether that pattern holds says something about how this horse responds to the biggest occasions.

Regular jockey David Allan has partnered Equity Law eight times without a win, going 0 from 8 together. That's not a criticism of either — partnerships take time, and plenty of races finish second or third — but it is a stat that stands out when the horse has shown it can win at a high level with other riders.

Behind all of this is Tim Easterby's operation, which has sent out 138 winners already this season. That's a yard in excellent form, and Equity Law raced just yesterday, so it remains very much a live story. Whether another top-level performance is coming is the question worth watching.
