The recent form offers a few small crumbs of comfort. Finishing fourth twice in the last six races suggests Elora Prince is competitive enough to stay in the picture at times, though the blank dashes in that sequence — races where it didn't feature in the placings at all — tell the fuller story. Fourth place is fine, but it doesn't pay the bills, and a horse that hasn't troubled the judge in 13 outings needs to find something significant to turn things around.
On the plus side, Elora Prince is still only three, which means there is at least a reasonable case for patience.
