That is not a headline figure, but it does not tell the whole story either — nine placed finishes means this horse has been competitive far more often than the wins alone suggest. It keeps showing up near the front without always getting there.

The last victory came at Wolverhampton on 29 April 2025, nearly eleven months ago now, and the six races since have returned a fifth, two sixths, a fourth, and a tenth, with one run where no finishing position was recorded. That is a horse that has been placed once in its last five completed races — competitive enough to avoid embarrassment, but not quite finding that final gear. The first win came at Southwell in December 2023, so both career victories have come on the all-weather tracks that dominate winter and indoor racing in Britain.

Educate is trained by Micky Hammond at his yard in Middleham, North Yorkshire, a yard that has sent out 24 winners already this season — a healthy output that suggests the operation is in decent form. Hammond knows how to place horses to find opportunities, and with Educate racing just one day ago, this is clearly a horse being kept busy and active. The puzzle for the team is finding the right combination of distance and track to coax out a third career win. The ingredients are there — the distance profile is encouraging — it is just a question of whether all the pieces land right on the same afternoon.
