The same picture emerges over its preferred trip of a mile-and-six to two miles, where it has won 2 of 8 races. That 25% win rate over that distance means when the ground is right and the trip is right, Dream Jet becomes a much more serious proposition.

The most striking pattern of all is its record at Hexham, the tight, undulating track in Northumberland that sorts horses out quickly. Dream Jet has won 2 of its 8 races there — the same headline figure as its trip stats, but what gives it extra weight is that Hexham specialists are genuinely hard to find. Horses that handle that course tend to handle it repeatedly, and Dream Jet's most recent win came there as recently as May 2025. That is not ancient history.

The partnership with jockey Craig Nichol is worth noting too. In 13 races together they have won 3 times, a win rate of 23% — almost 1 in 4 — which is meaningfully better than Dream Jet's overall record. When Nichol is booked, something is clearly clicking. Trainer Brian Ellison's yard at Norton in North Yorkshire has sent out 43 winners this season alone, so this is an operation that knows how to get a horse ready to run.

The last six races without a win and a mixed recent form line of 8-3-9-3-5-4 suggest Dream Jet is currently finding things a little tough, though a third-place finish in its penultimate run shows the ability is still there. Raced just a day ago and still active, Dream Jet is a horse with a very clear recipe for success — the right track, the right ground, and ideally the right jockey. When all three align, it has shown it can deliver.
