The most recent win came at Wexford on 24 July 2025, roughly 12 months ago, and before that the first career victory arrived at Killarney back in October 2021. Two wins from 39 races across nearly four years is a modest return by any measure, and the last six runs have brought nothing but seventh-place finishes and one third — a sequence that suggests the horse is finding it harder and harder to compete at the front of a field. Finishing seventh five times out of six is the kind of form that makes you wonder whether the best days are now firmly in the rearview mirror.

Jockey Jack G Gilligan has been the regular partner, teaming up seven times without a win between them. That is not an indictment of either horse or rider — the partnership simply has not clicked in the results column, and at this stage of the horse's career, a breakthrough together looks unlikely. Trainer Darren Collins has sent out 4 winners from his yard this season, so there is clearly life in the operation — Dontdooddson just has not been the one delivering it lately.

At 13, most horses are long retired, out in a field somewhere eating grass and ignoring everyone. The fact that Dontdooddson is still being prepared and entered for races is, in its own way, a small story worth telling — even if the racing itself has become a tough ask.
