The breakthrough came at Doncaster in March 2022, and just over a month later Dawn Of Liberation stepped up to win a Class 2 race at Goodwood — one of the top levels of competition in Britain. That Goodwood win arrived on the back of a puzzling run at Newmarket that left everyone at the yard scratching their heads; the horse had simply emptied in the race, running well below what they expected. The owner, Paul Roy, noted afterwards that a slightly shorter trip might suit, and pointed to the Churchill bloodline as something that would only improve with age and experience. He was right to stay patient.

The horse's preferences are fairly well defined by now. On normal ground, Dawn Of Liberation wins roughly 1 in every 5 races — 4 wins from 21 — which is a genuinely strong record. Put it on wet or muddy ground and that sharpness disappears, something Ruth Carr flagged explicitly after some work on the horse's wind in 2023, when she noted it would not want soft conditions. Over distances of a mile and three to a mile and four furlongs, it has won 2 from 11, or around 1 in 5 again, suggesting a horse that finds its rhythm when given a proper test of stamina but not an extreme one.

The most recent win came at York in June 2025, and the last six races have brought finishes of third, fifth, sixth, tenth, seventh, and sixth — consistent mid-pack efforts without a win to show for them. Warren Fentiman, the jockey most associated with the horse across 8 races together, has a single win to his name aboard Dawn Of Liberation. With the horse currently active and racing on normal ground at the right trip, the pieces for another day in the winner's enclosure are there — it just needs them to come together at once.
