A horse that keeps finishing second is a horse that keeps showing up at the right end of the race. She just needs things to fall right.

The Gosden yard is one of British racing's most powerful operations, having sent out 136 winners already this season, so Danielle is not short of professional support. That is not necessarily a partnership that has clicked yet, and it is a detail worth watching when she returns to action.

She has not raced for around four months, so there will be questions about sharpness on return. But a horse that won at the top level as recently as November, stays in form across a long season, and keeps knocking on the door, is one that deserves to be taken seriously when she reappears.
