Dame In Disguise

Trained by Max Young out of Droitwich Spa in Worcestershire, Dame In Disguise has been competing at Class 5 level — the bread-and-butter tier of British racing, where the horses are modest and the fields are winnable. She has run three times at that level and has not won once. For context, Class 5 is essentially the bottom rung of the competitive ladder, so this is not a horse being asked to punch above her weight. The yard itself has sent out just one winner this season, so it is a small operation without a lot of firepower behind it.

She raced just yesterday, which means she is an active runner and another outing could come at any time. Whether the yard — the team, that is — feel there is a race to be won somewhere down the line remains to be seen. The form figures right now do not offer much encouragement, but horses can surprise you, and someone clearly believes there is a reason to keep running her.
