Dame In Disguise

The bulk of its racing has come at Class 5, which is the entry-level tier of British racing — essentially the races designed for horses that haven't shown enough to compete higher up the ladder. Even there, Dame In Disguise hasn't managed to win any of its three outings at that level. At five years old, time is not exactly running out, but the pressure to find some form is quietly building.

The horse is trained by Max Young, based in Droitwich Spa in Worcestershire, a yard that has sent out just one winner so far this season. That's a modest return, and it suggests this is a small or developing operation rather than one of the powerhouse stables turning out winners week after week. Dame In Disguise raced just yesterday, so the yard are clearly keeping it busy and looking for opportunities — the question is whether the right race is still out there waiting to be found.
