At that distance, the horse has won 2 from just 4 races — a 50% win rate that is genuinely extraordinary. Half the races, half the wins. That is not luck; that is a horse doing exactly what it is built to do when conditions suit. Pair that with a preference for normal ground — 2 wins from 8 races on a standard surface, winning 1 in every 4 — and you start to see a horse that has specific requirements, but delivers when they are met.

The Curragh is also worth noting. Ireland's most famous flat track has seen Crypto Force line up there 9 times and win twice, which makes it the horse's happiest hunting ground. Its very first win came there on 1 June 2022, and the track has remained a place where it shows up ready to compete. The picture, then, is of a horse that has the tools to win — especially over its favoured trip on a decent surface — but one that needs things to fall right. When they do, it delivers. When they don't, it can look quite ordinary. The trainer will be hoping the next right day comes soon.
