Connova

The recent form makes for mixed reading. After finishing sixth on debut, Connova slipped back to fifteenth and seventeenth in its next two outings before rallying to finish fourth and then third in its most recent races. That improving arc at the end is the most encouraging thing here — the horse appears to be learning and getting better with each run, which is exactly what you want to see from a young horse still gaining experience. Raced just one day ago, Connova is clearly an active runner whose the yard are giving it plenty of opportunities to find its feet.

Trainer Sheila Lavery operates out of Summerhill in County Meath and has sent out three winners so far this season. It's a yard that clearly knows how to get a horse ready to win, and for Connova, the hope will be that another run or two brings everything together at the right moment.
