All three of Cold Henry's career victories have come at Catterick Bridge, a tight, undulating track in North Yorkshire that rewards horses who know the layout and handle it willingly. Winning 3 races from 9 at a single course is not a coincidence — that is a 33% win rate at one track, compared to nothing anywhere else. For context, even the best horses in training win fewer than half their races. Cold Henry has essentially made Catterick Bridge its personal territory, and the yard knows it. The first win there came back in September 2022; the most recent was just three months ago in March 2026, which tells you this is a horse still doing the business at the track that suits it best.

The partnership with jockey Joanna Mason is a significant part of the story. In 13 races together they have won twice — a 15% win rate, or roughly 1 in every 6-and-a-half rides — which is notably better than Cold Henry's overall record. Whether that reflects Mason's feel for the horse or simply that she tends to ride it when conditions are right, the combination clearly works. Sara Ender, who trains the horse from her yard in Malton, has sent out 9 winners already this season, so Cold Henry is operating within an active and productive set-up.

The horse also has a preferred distance range of a mile and six furlongs to two miles, and it is no coincidence that the wins and best performances cluster there. Over those longer trips — 2 wins from 13 races, again around 1 in 6 — Cold Henry gets time to find its rhythm in a way shorter races do not allow. Recent form of a win followed by two placed efforts suggests it is in a decent spell heading into the summer, and with Catterick fixtures still to come, there may well be more to add to that tally. For a horse winning roughly 1 in every 11 races overall, Cold Henry has a remarkably tidy way of making those wins count.
