The horse is trained by Nigel Tinkler, whose yard at Langton in North Yorkshire has been in excellent form this season, sending out 37 winners. That kind of productivity from a stable matters — it suggests horses are arriving at the track fit, ready, and in good hands. Claret Time hasn't delivered yet, but it is young, it is active, and it is being trained by someone who clearly knows how to get horses winning.
Two races is a very small sample for a two-year-old. Many of the best horses take time to figure out what is being asked of them, and a fifth-place finish hints at at least some ability to keep up with the pace. The question now is whether Tinkler can find the right race at the right moment to help Claret Time show what it can do.
