Centara

The most striking feature of his record is his dominance at Taunton, where he has won three of his five races at the track. This is the kind of course specialisation that makes a horse genuinely useful to back in the right circumstances. In Class 4 races, where he typically competes, he wins roughly one in every three runs (3 wins from 9), a respectable win rate for that level. His recent form has shown promise too: in his last six outings, he has managed a first-place finish, two fourth-place showings, and a fifth, suggesting he remains competitive against decent opposition.

Paul Nicholls trains Centara at Ditcheat in Somerset, and has built a prolific yard that has already sent out 91 winners this season. The trainer has spoken of Centara's improvement over time and noted that he won four races in a row at one point, a streak worth watching for. The owner, Kathy Stuart, has observed that the horse's jumping has been excellent when on the right ground and conditions suit him. Most of his races have come with Harry Cobden in the saddle, though their partnership has produced only two wins from ten rides together, a combined record that masks Centara's much stronger overall performance with other jockeys. His last victory came at Newton Abbot on 29 September 2025, though that race is now eleven months in the past, which may explain why he seems to be finding the mark a little harder to hit in his current run of form.
