Celestias Comet

The horse broke its duck at Southwell in late September 2025, then waited nearly nine months for a second success at Nottingham in early July this year. That victory came three months ago, and the recent form suggests the horse is still hunting for consistency—two places in the last six runs, bookended by a pair of fifth-place finishes and a sixth. There is promise buried in there: the second place in the most recent outing shows Celestias Comet can still mix it, even if it has not yet found the winning formula a third time.

Jonny Peate, the regular rider, has partnered the horse six times and won once together—the same winning percentage as the horse's overall record. James Fanshawe, the Newmarket trainer, runs a prolific yard that has sent out 44 winners already this season, so the horse is in capable hands. Whether Celestias Comet can find another gear and turn those places into wins remains to be seen, but the fact it is still racing and still showing up in the frame suggests it has not run out of chances yet.
