Those four wins have come almost exclusively in Class 4 races — roughly the fourth tier of British racing — where he has won 2 from 14, or about 1 in every 7 attempts at that level. It's a modest return, but it reflects a horse who belongs at that grade rather than one occasionally dropped into easier company. His preferred surface is a factor too: trainer Dianne Sayer has been candid that he goes best on fast, dry ground, which in Britain is not always the easiest thing to plan around.

The partnership with jockey Henry Brooke is worth noting. Of the nine times they've ridden together, they've won twice — a win rate of roughly 1 in 4, or 22%, which is genuinely good by any measure. That's the kind of number that suggests something clicks between horse and rider when the conditions are right.

His last win came at Musselburgh in November 2024, over 18 months ago now — a race Sayer had clearly targeted with some precision. She pointed him there specifically because it's the local track for his owners, and at 0–125 over three miles it was a race made for him. That kind of careful placing is what small, shrewd yards do well, and it paid off. Since then, though, he hasn't added to his tally in six races, with a third place his best recent effort.

He raced just yesterday, so he's firmly mid-campaign. The recent form — a mix of mid-pack finishes and some blanks — suggests he's in one of those patches where nothing quite comes together. At nine, he's not getting younger, but horses like Cardamon Hill often find one more moment. The team will be watching the forecast.
