Both of those wins have come at Downpatrick, the first on 15 June 2025 and the most recent just five weeks ago on 22 May 2026. Winning twice at the same track is worth noting — some horses just suit a particular course, whether it is the shape of the bends, the type of ground, or the way the race tends to be run, and Bruant clearly finds something extra at Downpatrick that it does not always find elsewhere. The recent form includes a win, an 11th, and a 6th from the last three completed races, which is uneven, but the win in the middle of that sequence is the one that matters most.
Bruant is trained by A J Martin at Summerhill in County Meath, a yard that has sent out 13 winners already this season — a solid, active operation that clearly knows how to get horses ready to win. Having raced as recently as yesterday, Bruant is very much a horse in the thick of its season right now, and with that Downpatrick win only five weeks old, it arrives at whatever comes next with recent winning form under its belt. For a horse that seems to save its best for one particular track over longer trips, the question is simply whether the yard can find the right opportunity to let it do what it does best again.
