Trainer Ms Sheila Lavery operates out of Summerhill in Co. Meath, and her yard has sent out three winners this season, so she clearly knows how to get a horse to the winner's enclosure. The question is whether Breathe Again can be the next one. Jockey Robbie Colgan has had the ride more than anyone else, partnering the horse in eight of its 15 races, but that partnership is still searching for its first win together. Eight races is a decent sample — enough to say that, whatever the right conditions are for Breathe Again to finally break through, they haven't quite aligned yet.
The recent form figures — 6, 15, 8, 4, 3, 7 reading from most recent back — tell an interesting story in themselves. That third-place finish two runs ago hints that the horse still has the ability to put in a decent performance, but it has not been able to back it up. It is currently active and racing, so the yard are clearly still looking for that elusive first win. With 15 races on the clock and no victories, patience is the one thing everyone around this horse needs in abundance.
