His most frequent partner in the saddle is Silvestre De Sousa, and that combination has a notably strong record together — 2 wins from 7 races, which means they have won roughly 1 in every 3 races (29%) as a pairing. That is considerably better than Bobby Bennu's overall win rate, which hints that the horse responds well to a rider who knows him. His recent form reads 2-4-15-5 over his last four completed outings — a second and a fourth are solid results, though the fifteenth is a result to quietly set aside.

Varian's view, expressed in April, was straightforwardly positive. He sees a solid, consistent horse with a nice programme of seven-furlong Class 2 races through the summer well suited to him, and while big targets like the Victoria Cup may come too soon, there are plenty of opportunities on the horizon. What is particularly interesting is that at a rating of 97, Bobby Bennu is still considered relatively lightly raced for his age — there is a sense from the yard that he has not yet shown everything. Whether he can translate that consistency into a win at the top level remains the question, but with a shrewd trainer, a trusted jockey, and a clear plan, this summer looks like the best chance he has had to answer it.
