Blufferonthebus

The horse broke through first at Pontefract in April 2024 and was last successful at Newcastle in November 2025—nine months ago now. That's a long drought, and the form in the last six races tells a story of inconsistency: a seventh-place finish, then third, then ninth, then second, third again, and a sixth. There are no wins in that sequence, and while placings still count for something, this horse is not delivering what it did when conditions favoured it. Craig Lidster's Norton yard has been sending out plenty of winners this season, so the stable is in good form, but Blufferonthebus has not yet been the beneficiary.

When partnered with jockey Sam James—his most frequent rider—the horse manages a slightly better win rate of three wins from seventeen races, roughly one in every five and a half. That suggests they have found a rhythm together, but it has not translated to wins recently. At Class 5 level, where Blufferonthebus typically races, it has won only two of twenty-one races, which points to a horse that holds its own in modest company but is unlikely to trouble anything stronger. The horse raced just yesterday, which means there is no layoff to blame for the recent struggles. If wet ground is forecast and the timing is right, Blufferonthebus is worth monitoring. On firm ground, look elsewhere.
