What makes Belvedere Blast interesting is not headline success but rather the narrow window in which he operates. His trainer Adrian Keatley, who runs a prolific yard at Ryedale in North Yorkshire, has observed that the horse thrives when kept at the right handicap weight: drop him down to a rating of 100 and he wins two or three races a season, but push him up to 115 and the handicapper catches him. That fine margin matters because it explains both his wins and his dry spell. His record on standard ground is notably strong — six wins from 29 races, double his win rate elsewhere — and he has proved a genuine specialist at Hexham, where he has won three of his last six races there. His last victory came at Market Rasen in August 2025, where he handled an unusual slower pace to get the job done late in the race.

In the saddle, jockey Henry Brooke draws the best from him: the pair have won together three times from nine races, a 33% win rate that stands well above Belvedere Blast's baseline. Keatley has been willing to experiment with different tactics — headgear, varied distances, different ground — to coax out a winning effort, which points to a horse who has shown enough promise to keep people trying. He typically races in Class 4, where he has won four of 32 races, and on his day remains a genuine threat. The absence of a win in his last six races suggests he may have drifted a little beyond his optimal mark again, but at eight years old and still racing, he remains capable of another winning spell when conditions align.
