The recent form figures tell an honest story. Looking back over the last six races, the best result is a second place, but there are also a pair of fifth-place finishes and a fourth in the mix. Nothing to get too excited about, and crucially, no win. Regular jockey Alan Johns has partnered the horse five times without a breakthrough, so this is not a pairing that has clicked into gear in the way you would hope.
Bells Of Ufford races mostly at Class 5 level, which is the entry-level tier of British racing — essentially the races designed for horses who have not managed to put a big win on the board. Even at that level, the horse has drawn a blank in all six attempts, which does make you wonder whether a first win is on the horizon any time soon. That said, it raced just one day ago and is clearly fit and active, trained out of Tim Vaughan's yard in the Vale of Glamorgan, a stable that has been in decent enough form this season with nine winners to their name. The talent is in the yard — Bells Of Ufford just needs to find a way to show more of it on the track.
