Where Baltic Voyage has shown its best form is over distances around a mile and one or two furlongs — the kind of trip that suits a horse who needs a bit of time to warm up but doesn't quite have the stamina for a proper staying test. At that distance, the record reads one win from seven races, a 14% win rate that comfortably outstrips its overall average. That one-in-seven conversion at the right trip is actually the most encouraging number in the file, and it suggests that when conditions and distance align, this horse is a different proposition.

Baltic Voyage runs mainly at Class 4 level, which sits in the middle tier of British racing — not the glamour events, but not the bottom rung either. At that level the record mirrors the trip stats: one win from seven races, or roughly 1 in 7. Trainer Marcus Tregoning's yard has sent out four winners so far this season, so there is form in the stable, even if Baltic Voyage hasn't yet added to it. At six years old and without a win since the summer of 2023, the window for a change of fortune is narrowing — but the horse is still racing, still competing, and yesterday's run shows the team hasn't given up on finding another day like that one at Ripon.
