What makes this four-year-old genuinely interesting is the run he put together across the summer of 2025. He won three races in a row between June and July — starting with a first career win at Beverley in late June, and finishing with a win at Ayr in late July. For a horse at his level, stringing together three consecutive wins is no small thing. It suggests a horse that was genuinely thriving, one who had found his stride and was making the most of it.

Jockey Faye McManoman has been a big part of the story. The two have raced together nine times, winning twice — a win rate of 22%, or roughly 1 in every 4 races together. That's a meaningful partnership, and notably better than his overall record suggests. When those two line up, something tends to click.

Trainer Nigel Tinkler, who operates out of Langton in North Yorkshire and has sent out 37 winners this season alone, has been candid about what happened after that summer purple patch. The team went to the well a little too often — kept running him while he was in form — and eventually gave him a well-earned break. Tinkler was openly looking forward to him as a four-year-old, which suggests the trainer genuinely believes there is more to come. His recent form reads 7-10-4-2-1-1, meaning he has drifted back toward midfield since returning, but the underlying talent is clearly still there.

Having raced just yesterday, Azuinthejungle is very much in the thick of his season. Whether he can rediscover that electric summer form is the question worth watching. A horse who can win three in a row once can absolutely do it again.
