The most recent win came at Limerick in June 2024, now over two years ago, and the six races since have brought nothing better than a third place. That said, those recent runs are more encouraging than they might look at first glance. Back-to-back thirds, then a sixth — Anvika is knocking on the door without walking through it. The worst of the recent form, a thirteenth and a tenth, are probably best set aside as outliers on days when things simply didn't click.

That is modest, though it broadly mirrors the horse's overall level rather than suggesting anything has gone particularly wrong between horse and rider.

Trainer Sheila Lavery operates out of Summerhill in County Meath and has three winners on the board this season. It is a small but active yard, and Anvika — who raced just yesterday and remains in active training — is clearly still being placed with care. The first win, back in December 2023 at Dundalk, came on an all-weather track, giving the team a range of options as they look to find the right opportunity. With the shorter trip bringing out the best in this horse, the next interesting moment will come when all those conditions line up at once.
