His breakthrough came at York in May 2024, when he broke his duck with a Class 2 victory, and he returned to York's track last month to record another win, this time at Chester. That repeat success suggests he is not a one-off winner but a horse learning to deliver when it matters. Trainer Roger Fell, whose Nawton yard in North Yorkshire has sent out 25 winners this season, clearly rates him highly. Fell has noted Andesite's bloodline — a half-sister who won at a top level — and sees real potential, describing him as high-class material ready for bigger opportunities. Right now Andesite sits at the interesting crossroads many four-year-olds reach: proven enough to excite the yard, but still chasing consistency. Recent form of 12-1-1-7-5-10 shows variability, but with two wins in the last six races, he is trending in the right direction, and he raced just yesterday, so he remains very much an active player in the game.
