Trainer Nigel Tinkler, who operates out of Langton in North Yorkshire and has sent out 37 winners already this season, has been candid about the journey. When Andalprofit won at Newcastle in April 2025, Tinkler admitted he was surprised by how well the horse did it, saying he had been quite weak and simply needed time. That kind of honesty from a trainer is telling — this wasn't a horse anyone was shouting from the rooftops about early on. By last autumn, Tinkler was describing him as a bit of a worrier who had lost confidence in himself, a horse that had shown promise at Haydock but then gone quiet. Building a horse's confidence back up is painstaking work, and not every trainer bothers.

The payoff came this week. Andalprofit won at Redcar — and it was his second win at that track from just three visits. Two wins from three races at one course is the kind of record that turns heads; most horses take years to accumulate that sort of dominance at a single venue, if they manage it at all. Tinkler was effusive afterwards, pointing to a favourable draw on the far side and a smart ride from regular partner Alex Jary, who has now won 2 of their 16 races together — about 1 in every 8 outings as a partnership.

That relationship with Jary matters. Sixteen rides together is a genuine sample size, and the fact that both career wins at this stage of the partnership have come in the last few months suggests something is clicking. Andalprofit's recent form reads 1-8-5-8-2-6 going back through his last six races, which on paper looks inconsistent — but that winning run is the most recent entry, and form often makes most sense when you read it right to left. A horse that raced just yesterday, has just won, and has a course it genuinely loves? That's a horse worth watching closely for what comes next.
