That ninth-place finish sticks out, but everything since has been tidy, including a win at Pontefract just last week.

Tinkler has spoken warmly about him, pointing to a big, long-striding frame that suits tracks like Doncaster, where Amidst The Chaos picked up his first career win back in August 2025. The trainer noted that a run at Southwell was compromised by a lack of pace in the race, which caused the horse to pull too hard and run above himself — the kind of context that makes a bad result make sense. The plan at that point was to try the all-weather surface before sending him to a horses-in-training sale, with Tinkler even considering buying him back himself. He also mentioned schooling the horse over jumps ahead of the sale, flagging potential interest from the jump racing world.

Whether Amidst The Chaos ends up on the flat or eventually goes hurdling, the recent win at Pontefract suggests there is still plenty of life in this campaign — and in this horse.
