The yard has been in fine form this season, sending out 31 winners, and Alien Storm has contributed his share. He tends to perform at his best on slightly wet ground — 3 wins from 8 races in those conditions, meaning he wins more than 1 in every 3 times the ground is soft — which is a meaningful edge when the British autumn and winter deliver the weather they usually do.

His partnership with jockey David Bass is worth noting. In 10 races together they have won 3 times, a win rate of 30% — or roughly 1 in every 3 rides — which is well above his average with other jockeys. That kind of familiarity between horse and rider often tells you something.

His recent form reads a little unevenly — two wins, a couple of placed efforts, and a couple of quieter runs — and Longsdon has been open about the fact that particularly heavy ground at Kempton over Christmas found him out. The ground was simply too soft, and he struggled to pick up his feet through it. That is a useful detail: this is a horse who likes a bit of give underfoot but not a genuine bog. As the ground dries into spring, Longsdon expects him to return to his better form, and the handicapper has helped by dropping him 2lb since that difficult run. His last win came at Doncaster in November 2025, and with conditions likely to improve, another winning opportunity does not feel far away.
