Newcastle is where this horse has made its name. Three wins from seven races there — winning almost 1 in every 3 times it turns up — is the kind of record that makes you sit up. For context, most horses win roughly 1 in 10 races at any given course. Three wins from seven at one track is not coincidence; that is a horse that genuinely loves the place. It was also at Newcastle, back in September 2024, that Alfa Whiteburd recorded its first career win, so there is a sense of the track bringing out something special in it.

Ivan Furtado's yard in Wiseton, South Yorkshire has been firing on all cylinders this season — 43 winners sent out is a strong tally and reflects a team operating with real purpose. The partnership with jockey Tom Eaves is worth highlighting too: three wins from seven rides together, a win rate of 43%, is exceptionally productive. Nearly half of every time those two team up, they come home first. That is the kind of combination you notice.

The one caveat is that Alfa Whiteburd competes mainly at Class 4 level — one of the mid-tier grades — and has only won 1 from 10 races at that level, a rate of just 10%. Its wins tend to come when the conditions suit rather than on sheer class. But on current form, and with Newcastle still on the agenda, few would bet against it adding to that tally soon.
