Act of Violence

Trained by Tony Carroll at Cropthorne in Worcestershire, Act of Violence typically races at the lower levels — Class 5 races, where he has won once from seven attempts. David Allan has ridden him most often, combining for one win from nine races together. The horse shows a marked preference for normal ground conditions: he has won twice from eight races on standard surfaces, a 25 percent return that is well above his overall average. On wetter or faster going, however, he has struggled to replicate that success. His recent form has been modest — a win, a fourth, a third, a second, a fourth, and a sixth from his last six races — suggesting inconsistency rather than decline. Still active, he raced just a day ago, and at five years old has time to find his level.
