That one victory came at Beverley on 24 June 2025, and it is worth noting because Beverley is a track with a pronounced uphill finish that tends to suit horses who stay on strongly rather than those who win on pure speed. Breaking through there suggests A War Eagle has a bit of grit about him. His best performances have come over seven furlongs to a mile — five races at those distances have produced that one win, a 20% win rate at the trip, or one in every five. That is a solid enough marker to suggest the yard knows where his sweet spot lies.

The slightly puzzling part of his profile is his record in Class 4 races, which are mid-tier contests — not the top level, but not the bottom either. He has run five times at that level without winning, going 0 from 5. Given that he has managed to win at a track as demanding as Beverley, there may be something in the race conditions or the way those particular races have unfolded that has not quite suited him. It is something to watch.

Callum Rodriguez has ridden him in six of his ten races, winning once together — roughly one in every six rides, or about 17%. That is a working partnership, and continuity with a jockey matters more than people often realise.
