All four of his races so far have come aboard the same horse, Dlightofdsun, which makes this less a partnership built on success and more a case of two relative unknowns figuring things out together. That is not unusual at this stage — young riders often find themselves paired with horses at a similar level, getting miles in the saddle wherever they can. The wins will matter less right now than the experience.

There simply is not enough yet to say where Walsh is headed. What can be said is that every jockey who has ever won a big race started somewhere, and for Walsh, this is that somewhere.
