Becoming a jockey is genuinely hard. Rides are scarce, competition is fierce, and most jockeys spend years building relationships with trainers before they start seeing regular opportunities. Two rides in a year is a thin return, but for an amateur or conditional rider still finding their feet, simply getting in the saddle at a racecourse is the first step. Every experienced jockey you have ever heard of started somewhere similar.

There is not yet enough of a career to point to a particular strength or a track where he thrives. That chapter is still to be written.
