The real insight lies in where Zoulu Warrior performs best. At the lowest competitive level, Class 6 races, the horse is genuinely good: three wins from six attempts means a 50 per cent win rate in that grade. It is plainly a horse that struggles to win when the opposition gets stronger. Similarly, on normal ground conditions, Zoulu Warrior has won two of eight races (25 per cent), double its overall win rate. This suggests the horse prefers standard racing conditions to extremes and thrives when not overmatched.

What makes the recent form harder to read is the drought. Zoulu Warrior last won on 27 December 2025 at Wolverhampton—nine months ago—and has not finished in the money in its last six races, with results of 11th, 10th, 5th, 7th, 14th, and 7th. The horse was last out just yesterday, which shows it remains active and in regular work, but the extended losing run is conspicuous. Whether this reflects a decline, bad luck, or simply being stepped up in class is unclear from the record alone. What is certain is that Zoulu Warrior needs a return to the conditions and grade where it has already proved itself capable of winning—normal ground and Class 6 company—to remind the yard why it broke through at Chepstow in August 2025.
