That win at Wolverhampton was the most recent victory, now seven months ago, and the recent form figures of 7-14-7-4-1-1 tell an interesting story when you read them right to left. Two wins, then a fourth, then two modest efforts. The last two outings have been 7th and 14th — not the form of a horse firing on all cylinders, and worth keeping in mind for anyone following it closely.
That said, Heather Main's yard has sent out 17 winners this season, which tells you this is an operation that knows how to get horses ready to win. Main, based in the Oxfordshire countryside, has built a steady and productive string, and Zoulu Warrior has clearly been one of her more reliable performers at this level. With the horse having raced just one day ago and still active, there may well be more opportunities ahead — and if it returns to the form that made it so effective earlier in its career, another win in the right conditions would be no surprise at all.
